Reverend Al Sharpton and other civil rights leaders led a march on issues including voting rights, criminal justice, health care and pay equity. Following the march, a rally was held near the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial. Other speakers included NAACP President Cornell William Brooks; author and professor Michael Eric Dyson; Senator Jeff Merkley (D-OR); Washington, D.C., Mayor Muriel Bowser; and relatives of Trayvon Martin, Eric Garner and Walter Scott who were killed in incidents involving the police.
